This pristine copy of WWII flying Ace Marion E. Carl’s memoirs includes a unique Autograph Letter Signed (ALS) on his 2-star letterhead, dated 1988, with over 190 words in Carl's handwriting describing the heroic day he became the first Marine Corps Ace of World War II.

Also included is a fine, inscribed 8x10 black and white numbered Marine Corps photo taken circa 1943 of the young fighter pilot in uniform.

Ever the hero, General Carl was tragically killed in the late 1990s defending his wife from an intruder in their home.
